01 · The Challenge

Getting people to trust a new kind of wellness product.

Mental wellness is deeply personal. People already had meditation apps, journals, mood trackers, and routines they trusted.

Mynd introduced something different: an AI-powered wellness companion designed to adapt to the individual. Users could generate personalized meditations, journal through guided conversations, receive weekly emotional insights, and interact with an AI companion built around everyday reflection.

The challenge wasn't simply awareness. It was helping people understand why this experience felt different.

02 · The Strategy

What your mind wants · Mynd positioning

Building community and credibility before launch.

Community before campaigns. As an early-stage startup, we couldn't outspend larger wellness brands. Instead, we focused on building credibility and momentum before launch day.

The strategy combined creator partnerships, founder storytelling, PR outreach, startup communities, and early user advocacy to create awareness across audiences already interested in AI, wellness, and productivity.

The goal wasn't simply driving traffic. It was creating enough belief that people wanted to participate in the launch itself.

03 · The Launch

Launching on Product Hunt.

Product Hunt became the centerpiece of the launch because it rewards community participation as much as product quality. Weeks of creator outreach, community engagement, launch planning, and supporter activation came together around a single launch moment.

For a first-time product launch, Product Hunt became both a validation moment and a growth catalyst.

04 · The Setback

The app crashed. The launch didn't.

A surge of launch-day traffic temporarily overwhelmed the platform. Rather than hiding the issue, we acknowledged it openly through a campaign called Mindful Mishap.

The message thanked users for their patience, celebrated the unexpected demand, and invited the community into the moment. What could have become a frustrating setback became one of the launch's most engaging conversations, with users responding in the same playful tone and sharing their own stories.

A moment of transparency became a moment of trust.

05 · The Execution

Growing and retaining users after launch.

Once awareness was established, the focus shifted toward growth, retention, and ongoing engagement.

1

Creator Program

Built a network of 25+ creators and developed the briefing, testing, and content feedback systems that generated over 3M impressions.

2

Lifecycle Marketing

Identified onboarding drop-offs and tested messaging, timing, and engagement flows to improve activation and retention.

3

Content Engine

Helped build an AI-powered content operation that scaled to thousands of SEO-driven content pieces per month.

08 · The Takeaway

Products don't spread because people discover them. They spread because people trust them enough to share them.

Building Mynd reinforced something I still believe: successful launches start long before launch day. Community, storytelling, product experience, and distribution worked together as one system.

By the time we launched, the momentum was already there.
